A 5e adventure for new GMs and players

On the edge of Eversong forest, down a winding forest path that local villagers have long avoided, lies a peculiar moss-covered cabin of old wood and stone. For years it has been the residence of a reclusive old scholar, and some say, amateur wizard, named Frey Celdin. A ring of tall trees encircles the glade as if the forest itself wouldn’t dare encroach on this tiny farmstead. At its center sits Frey’s cabin with a large overgrown garden along its side. An old wooden outhouse and damaged stone well appear to be the only other structures of note. As your party steps into the glade to investigate the disappearance of the old wannabe wizard, the forest around you fills with ominous creeping fog and strange arcane energies seem to fill the air.
